This was at the Marriott marina.  This is a high-end facility, and serious
hardware is slipped there.  Fortunately the winds were calm, which limited
the spread of the fire.

Isn't that were you had your boat berthed one summer?

No, I was at Shelter Cove Marina, which is on Shelter Island.  The Marriott
is about 3.5 miles further east into San Diego Bay.  It's a high-rent joint,
partly due to the amenities the hotel brings to the occupants.

I could not remember which place.  Senior years are taking it's toll.  Or
the brain is just filled up with useless facts.

That's awful.

We're going to see a lot of marinas get "daylighted" up this way, with
the roofs removed.
Several fires in local covered marinas recently have typically claimed
a dozen or more boats per incident and the cities are now demanding
that the marinas remove the covers from "covered" moorage or spend
$$$$$$ installing sprinkler systems.
