Interesting article in today's (May 26) Wall Street Journal, p. D8, about
the Mari-Cha IV, the world's fastest single-hull sailboat. It sails at more
than 30 knots, thanks to twin 140-foot masts (on a 140-foot hull) and a
21-foot hydraulically manipulated keel. Two years ago it crossed the
Atlantic in under seven days, two days faster than the previous record, and
covered 525 miles in one 24-hour period.
Probably not home-built.
