does the height of a jib off the deck on a beach cat make much
difference? Obviously the jib track needs to be moved to be in the
right spot for trimming as you put the sail higher or lower off the
deck, but are there any benfits to higher/lower?
i would have thought that a jib higher up would catch a bit more air
in light airs, but be overpowered in heavier winds... I replaced the
standing rigging on my cobra recently, but by the time i added a
furler and a new rign, the sail sits a fair bit higher than it used
to. Im thinking to re-do the rigging to bring it back down again.
Thanks,
Shaun

I'd try what you've got before you change it. Might find that you can see
better under the sail and the better wind is higher hence the newish
tendancy to use full roach, battened main sails.
