Pray tell me how do you install it incorrectly?
Plug it in and that's it.
Make sure the cabling is secure and not stressed. etc. etc.
I have installed it correctly.
Airmar no longer makes these transducers and the woman who answered my
email was less than no help!

I agree with Wayne. Just because you think you have done this correctly does
not make it so. The only way to tell what is going on is to find the fault
and you have not done that. You are changing the assembly and hoping you
captured the fault. You may very well find the transducer is still good.
