My tillerpilot is working basackwards, i.e. if the boat goes off course to
STBD, the correction is for more STBD. I've lost the manual and am hoping
some kind soul can tell me how to reprogram it. I seem to recall that when
it was new I keyed in something to tell it which side of the tiller it was
mounted on. It and I seem to have lost our memory. Can any one help...
please. And for bonus points, can anyone direct me to an online, free source
to download the manual.
Thanks.

Jerry,
Navico is now part of Simrad. I do not know how good there coverage is
of older numbers.

I just dug out the manuals for the TP5000/TP5500 and the HP5000 remote. Let
me see what's in there about reversing the pilot direction.
Hmmmm. I scanned the appropriate page and "OCR'd" the text, There are a
few diagrams on the page that complicate the OCR, but here's what it says
(approximately:
PAGE 16
PORTHAND MOUNTING
The Tillerpilot is factory set for mounting on the starboard side. If you
require port hand mounting then the unit can be reconfigured by following
the procedure below. You will only need to do this once as the setting will
be memorized by the unit and retained even after disconnection from the
power supply.
CHANGING MOUNTING CONFIGURATION OF TILLER PILOT.
Hold down the setlauto key and connect Tillerpilot to 12 Volts (ensure key
is held down before and during power connection). Wind indicator confirms
Tillerpilot set for starboard mounting (note: if port hand
mounting had previously been set, then compass indicator would confirm).
Press the port key if port hand mounting Compass indicator confirms
Tillerpilot now set for port hand mounting.
Press the starboard key only if starboard mounting is to be reselected. Wind
indicator will confirm.
When correct mounting has been selected press set/auto to revert the
Tillerpilot to normal operation - standby-mode, compass selected.
