I contacted Garmin an they told me they would repair it for a flat fee of $150.00. I haven' decided yet if I want to repair it, buy a newer model or if I can d without the DSC option and just keep it since everything else work fine on it. I have an ICOM 302 and a Garmin 162 and have decided to live without the DSC for now. I have speant more hours on it than I care to and I have other projects in the works. Perhaps next year I'll spring for a color unit. I've been considering installing an ICOM 422, because it was so highly rated in Practical Sailor.
