Timmy "Sponson Boy" posts from his isp.com account, which has the
following on their website as their Terms Of Service, or TOS:

RESTRICTIONS OF USE:

User understands that the following restrictions are applied to the
service:

User may not:

Send SPAM, or bulk email when dialed into the network.

Post offensive, threatening or SPAM when using the newsgroups.

Use their personal FTP site for business sites.

Post or transmit viruses or any harmful component to others.

Transmit anything that is protected by copyright without permission.

Attempt to violate the security of any network.

Engage in illegal activity.

Share their account information with any other person.

Do we think we could convince isp.com that one timingram@isp.com is
flagrantly violating their TOS? I think the argument could be made!

John:

I filed a complaint with ISP.com attaching his latest cut/paste copy
from 10/22/09.  I am especially offended that he brought Scott
Bristow's name into it, and it is with hesitation I even mention it.
I never met Scott but I had several friends that paddled with him and
they had immense respect.

"We should remember that they had friends who cared for and
appreciated them. And they enhanced their friend's lives and are
missed forever. Appreciating the time we had with them is not the
lesson. Appreciating the time we have left is the lesson. These guys
lived free and strong. Hey, have no regrets. They all tought us a
great lesson in their passing, but it will take years to unravel.
Their lives - and their deaths - were gifts to us. We shouldn't sully
the gifts with selfish laments."
- Jim Snyder, commenting on the loss of Scott Bristow and others.

I am sure that Tim will show his true self and continue to prove what
an a.s he is.

You guys are still pissing into the wind.  Tim Ingram is mentally
ill.  Attempting to reason with him or expecting him to behave
rationally is an indication that you guys are maybe not so smart or so
sane as you should be.

Rich did the right thing: point out his abuses to his ISP, because it
is completely within our cultural and moral norms to restrict the
activities of the insane so that they do not degreade the lives of the
sane.  It's a dam' shame that a sick person has been able to destroy
an active and useful newsgroup, but Usenet will probably die its slow
death (giving way to privately run -- and moderated -- message
boards), before the WWW develops a means of sequestering the mentally
ill

Arguing with Tim and calling him names is just silly.  His posts
represent, probably, 50% of the messages on r.b.p, but his messages
combined with the responses they elicit probably represent more like
95% of the messages.  By engaging him you only make the problem worse
and render r.b.p even less usable.

I mean, really, think about it: is there even a glimmer of sanity
evident in Ingram's crusade?

Richard, I hold no delusions that Timmy can be reasoned with on any
level. Yes I suspect mental illness, but it's really hard to make such
a diagnosis over one's posts to the Internet. But one's posts to the
Internet do give some gleaning into one's rationality, and Tilly fails
miserably on this measure.

Have you noticed how Timmy has yet to respond to any posts in this
discussion thread? Methinks talk of getting his ISP to pull his
account has him a little nervous! After all, he's been kicked off ISPs
before for his behavior!

Everyone!

Please read the following response from ISP.com about Tim's postings:

"Thank you for including such detail, we have disabled his account
causing him to call in and will deal with him when he does call in.

Dear Sirs:

I am complaining that a customer of yours, Tim Ingram,
timingram@isp.com, is posting spam and clogging up usenet groups with
advertising for his business, www.sponsonguy.com.  He cuts and pastes
whole pages from his website and posts them 3, 4, 5, 6 sometimes even
more times on a single entry on usenet groups.  He is currently
clogging up pages and pages of text on the usenet group
recreation.boats.paddle as the following posting I am including
describes:

ACTUAL POSTING FROM 10/22/09:

(edited here but entire pages and pages were sent to ISP.com as
examples)"

So, in the meantime let's chat it up while we have the board free.

Great to hear from you, Mothra.  A lot of us are still around, still
paddling and reflecting on this journey called life.

"So many believe that it is love that grows. but it is the knowing
that grows and love simply expands to contain it. Love is just the
skin of knowing". --William P. Young

Way to go Rich!! Thanks!!

Now we just have to wait and see how long it takes Timmy to get
another ISP. But until then, RBP is a SPONSON FREE ZONE! YAY!!

I think we want the .50 cent sp*ns**n's... if he can't deliver life saving
sp*ns**n's at that price we want the FTC after him...

Going from one ISP to another is one thing, paying federal fines is another...

Good point Rich. Yeah, I saw Timmy's disparaging of Scott in a post
recently. I never met Scott either, but in that he paddled a 007, he
and I are kinda brethren in that. I still paddle an old 007.

Maybe I'll email isp.com and lodge a complaint against Timmy myself.
Getting him kicked off his ISP would at least give RBP some temporary
respite from Timmy's sick puppy puke!

Well done, Rich!

I already did the same thing a while ago, but I'm glad that they
responded now.
