This should work just fine.  I run my 37lb motor on full speed all the
time.
As you probably know, all the electronics does is pulse width modulate
the current to achieve the lower currnents for slower speeds.

However, running the motor full-tilt *may* cause the prop to cavitate when
you push the "ON" button (this depends on the motor and the prop).  I do
know that if I twist the throttle to max on my gas outboard when I am at a
dead-stop, the prop just spins but doesn't bite.  You have to ease your way
up to full-throttle.

Seems reasonable.  You will of course, be constrained with no other
option than rockets on or rockets off with a simple switch.

Simple resistive speed controls like a small electric heater or light
bulb wired in series waste power.  Fancy, efficient  electronic
chopper controls can make radio noise.

Your pick.  Note- playing with wires and electric motors can cause
momentary surges of voltage enough to make you drop your testicles and
could spark a fire or even an explosion if you have gasoline nearby.
Be careful.

My Minn Cota outboard electric motor's electronic box "kaput".  Do anybody knows, is it possible connect 12 V directly to the motor for it will work on full speed, or electronic circuit is more complex than simply regulate the voltage and motor will not work without this box?
