folks... lots of fun. I didn't get there until today a 1/2 hour late for the
start due to road construction delays. My target of being there by Monday
was squelched when I had to deal with a medical problem ...

I've just bought some tell-tales to put on a Laser but can't seem to get any
consistent advice about where they go. Some seem to be quite certain they
have exact locations depending on the boat and/or sail, whilst others (for
example the information leaflet I got with the tell-tales ...

Thanks to Donal, the intruders are winning the battle. I was doing wonders by
not feeding them until Dunce Donal decided to throw gas on the fires of his own
idiocy and egg them on.

From now on I'm going to keep my sail cover on whenever I'm sailing.
After all, if I take the cover off, the sun might rip it in half in less
than 5 minutes!

I am a complete beginner to sailing. I would like to circumnavigate on my own boat as
a liveaboard.
My plan is to start by crewing on other peoples boats as a landlubber and then
during that period study navigation and the text book side. Then go for longer term crews

Got my insurance reminder today, in spite of a 5% discount it had still gone
up £35. When I phoned them I was told that all marine ins. had gone up by
40% this year.
Just how can they justify a hike as big as that? Or maybe they can't but do

So how many folks in ASA train their crew not to look at the mainsail while
they're "trimming" it?
