| Scotty BUSTED!!!! | 31 Jul 2003 15:16 GMT | 5 |
I suppose I should have wrote,''the wave splashed UP'', but I assumed people here would know what I meant, and besides, I figured I'd catch a CatShitFish. And I never wrote that it ''crashed down on the bow'',>>

| PING Tadpole.... | 31 Jul 2003 14:08 GMT | 2 |
Heh Taddy.... Met with the Light Schooner & Windsprint gang.... great folks... lots of fun. I didn't get there until today a 1/2 hour late for the start due to road construction delays. My target of being there by Monday was squelched when I had to deal with a medical problem ...

| tell tales | 31 Jul 2003 10:21 GMT | 4 |
I've just bought some tell-tales to put on a Laser but can't seem to get any consistent advice about where they go. Some seem to be quite certain they have exact locations depending on the boat and/or sail, whilst others (for example the information leaflet I got with the tell-tales ...

| Know why I don't see Bertie any more? | 31 Jul 2003 05:29 GMT | 31 |
Rule 17: When text of message contains the word or words "Bertie" then delete message. Does anybody know if Bertie the Butt Buggerer is still around? Of course, I won't see this message but Bertie will.

Bobsprit may be a troll but give credit where credit is due. His trolls are related to sailing and promote sailing discussion the majority of the time. Bobsprit is motivated by promoting sailing discussions. Bobsprit is an asset to this group.

| Donal Screws the Pooch | 31 Jul 2003 05:09 GMT | 1 |
No, not Scotty's wife. Thanks to Donal, the intruders are winning the battle. I was doing wonders by not feeding them until Dunce Donal decided to throw gas on the fires of his own idiocy and egg them on.

| Hey, Scotty!!! | 30 Jul 2003 23:00 GMT | 4 |
Any more 8 foot waves crash down on the bow of your boat in 18 knot winds??? <<<Had a very nice sail ,in 18kt wind, over to one of our fav. anchorage's. Lisa was sitting on the bow, feet over the side catching waves, screaming like a little girl when one crashed over on her.>>>

| Sail Covers | 30 Jul 2003 22:48 GMT | 15 |
From now on I'm going to keep my sail cover on whenever I'm sailing. After all, if I take the cover off, the sun might rip it in half in less than 5 minutes! Now we know why Bob posts so many pictures with his boat under engine.

| newbie question on starting sailing and solo sailing | 30 Jul 2003 21:01 GMT | 2 |
I am a complete beginner to sailing. I would like to circumnavigate on my own boat as a liveaboard. My plan is to start by crewing on other peoples boats as a landlubber and then during that period study navigation and the text book side. Then go for longer term crews

| Insurance Hike. | 30 Jul 2003 20:48 GMT | 13 |
Got my insurance reminder today, in spite of a 5% discount it had still gone up £35. When I phoned them I was told that all marine ins. had gone up by 40% this year. Just how can they justify a hike as big as that? Or maybe they can't but do
