Hey larry flynt30 Nov 2003 22:57 GMT6
I rent a movie at Blockbuster and copy it to my hard drive.
What program do you recommend for compressing it and
burning it to a CD ROM. And, where can I get a copy of
this free software?
Looking for an experienced answer30 Nov 2003 19:14 GMT9
I am looking for a career change, and all I want to do is sailing.
I have no experience whatsoever, and I would really need some
experienced input.
Few questions related to this:

Very interesting that having a stroke results in talking
with a British accent. I think this means Brits are
retarded . . .
anchor ball/light with sea anchor?30 Nov 2003 12:21 GMT2
I've just bought a sea-anchor, and this begs the question what lights and
symbols should one display with the sea-anchor deployed?
I've bought it mostly so that I can get some zzzzs in bad weather when I am
too knackered to go on, so I'd only be maintaining a fitful watch (augmented

What a Nice Day29 Nov 2003 03:18 GMT9
Well, we had a great day! Food was excellent and the weather in PA was actually
pretty nice. We loaded up the car with friends who couldn't get home this year
and my parents cooked a 24 lb bird that was perfection. Stuffing, veggies,
salad and apple pie/Jr.s Cheesecake closed the ...
The Day After...ughhh29 Nov 2003 02:59 GMT1
Just came back from a 3 mile run...and in the damn rain. I felt like I was
carrying 20 extras pounds. Glad these holiday meals are just a few times a
year! I'm not touching th leftovers my father sent us home with.

sailing in shallow bahama water29 Nov 2003 00:21 GMT5
I   picked up a chart of Bahama and Cuba, and was AMAZED at the extent
and shallowness of much of water off the Bahamas; just a few fathoms for an
area the size of Florida.
Has anyone experience with sailing across (not just up to and around)
Atlantic 3128 Nov 2003 23:20 GMT2
Does anyone know anything about a Greek built yacht, popular with
charter companies called an "Atlantic 31"? Any recommendations?

As an in-experienced wannabee yachty, I find it hard to believe, well
actually easy to believe but incredulous, that as he descibed earlier....

Oxalic Acid28 Nov 2003 21:55 GMT7
OK guys, here is one to sink your teeth into.
I was advised that the best option for cleaning growth off the bottom of a
fibreglass hull is Oxalic Acid. Apparently it does not damage the glass or
gel coat, but it literally strips any foreign matter on the hull clean off.
