| Trip Report | 30 Apr 2004 22:40 GMT | 43 |
Sheesh...over 750 posts while I was gone.. Well, here's the news...we won't find out until the end of the week about the job situation, but it looks very good. The bad thing: very very shallow....if we did take Chanteuse down, we'd be sitting on her keel half

| Storm Jibs | 30 Apr 2004 19:42 GMT | 65 |
I have roller furling on the genoa of a Bavaria 34. It is satisfactory most of the time, but in a rough seaway it becomes a problem upwind at Force 6, and at Force 7 and over never performs particularly well, being a bit prone to back and shake the forestay too much, and to lose its ...

| Which window shape? | 30 Apr 2004 19:30 GMT | 60 |
The windows on my boat need to be replaced. They're fitted into those old-style channelled rubber strips that are used to hold vehicle windows in place - the rubbers are rather perished and the acrylic is clouded and crazed. I'm considering putting tinted acrylic on the outside of ...

| Cleaning Brass | 30 Apr 2004 05:56 GMT | 20 |
I have several boxes filled with brass oil lamps, barometers and clocks I want to clean. I was using Noxon 7 or something to that effect. Slow going and then I remembered those TV ads for Tarn X. Does anyone know if that stuff really works?

| Jonathan, you're in good company | 30 Apr 2004 01:54 GMT | 53 |
Looks like Jonathan isn't the only one who has a bit of a problem with the nuances of the understood "to be," the adjective "cheap" and the adverb "cheaply." In an otherwise fine front page editorial, today's Post, referring to the young Americans under arms in Iraq, said "How ...

| Charlie's Pics | 29 Apr 2004 22:51 GMT | 1 |
Interesting set, Charlie seems to prefer portraits. Notice he doesn't really have any from Thursday afternoon, not that I can tell. OTOH, I did tell him he'd better put his digital away before it got ruined, Charlie got completely douched around 5 p.m. sitting on the high side, his

http://tinylink.com/?CKODrqEmu9 Playing with the camera again, I think I saw this boat for the first time in February, trying out the new Sigma 28-105mm f2.8-4 lens. Pretty sad, but the good thing is, when I load the unaltered images to webshots, they

| Heh Joe.... | 29 Apr 2004 19:10 GMT | 1 |
I read Bush signed a proclamation to regulate the anchorage and movement of all vessels. It allows all vessels in US territorial waters to be boarded and taken possession of without a warrant or crime being committed. It's supposedly all part of the Homeland Security fiasco.......
