Robust laptop?31 Dec 2005 16:49 GMT9
Can anyone recommend a laptop robust enough for long-term ocean
cruising?
What I'm looking for is a laptop with a metal instead of plastic case
which will hopefully be more durable for long term ocean use.
Yacht wanted,31 Dec 2005 15:20 GMT20
Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a yacht 28-30' preferably cruiser but don't
mind if it's a  racer, comfort not a priority & don't mind a bit of work if
needed. Also, preferrably, a bilge keeler but a fin would be ok. If you're
upgrading this winter, or you know someone who is ...

Sikkens Cetol for use on National 12 Dinghy31 Dec 2005 12:39 GMT7
I have a part wood, part GRP "Baggy Trousers" N12 to sand and varnish.
It's not too long in the tooth to race - so I want a practical coating
for a season of capsizing in lake water, not a showroom finish. It will
also be stored outdoors under a boom over cover.

35s5 Swim Platform Dangers!31 Dec 2005 01:50 GMT2
1. Allows carbon monoxide to enter cockpit!
2. Allows dangerous boarders to easily enter!
3. Entry position allows rocking boat to hit swimmer!
4. A fall means MOB!

Importing TO the US and VAT30 Dec 2005 14:43 GMT4
I am a US citizen with hopes of buying a new or used Jeanneau Sun 2000
and importing to the US via container ship.   I realize if I buy a used
boat, I will end up indirectly paying VAT because the prior owner will
want to recoup a part of the VAT paid previously.  In other words, I
