Man caused global warming28 Feb 2007 22:19 GMT32
Man is the cause of global warming.
Due to choice of lifestyle, some men are more guilty than others.

An open post to Capt. Neal28 Feb 2007 20:35 GMT31
Capt. Neal Warren,
The handwriting is on the wall.  I'm surprised you have failed to recognize
the symptoms of ASA's rapidly approaching demise.  Continue the path you've
chosen, and you will be here alone, save for perhaps a few flonkers and a
Goals for this Coming Season28 Feb 2007 20:28 GMT68
I'm curious if anyone else has set goals for the coming sailing
season. Maybe enter a few more races, take a few more pictures, avoid
a few more shoals, go somewhere or develop a new skill. What is your
goal for this year? Mine is transiting under sail a local inlet during
Night Vision Optics28 Feb 2007 20:18 GMT8
I've used friends night vision set ups both monocular and binocular. I
now would like to get a set and want to make the wisest purchase
decision. What brands do you recommend? For long periods of usage is
the binocular much easier on the eyes than the monocular? Should I

Less than 2 months - BOO!28 Feb 2007 17:23 GMT28
In less than 2 months Heart of Gold will be in the water. I will return then
to fill your otherwise empty lives. You are all a really pathetic bunch.

Navman Speed 3100 Through Hull Transducer Replacement Paddlewheel28 Feb 2007 16:48 GMT1
I'm trying to find the part number for a replacement paddlewheel for
my Navman Speed 3100 through hull transducer. I ordered what I thought
was the correct part without seeing a picture of it first, but now
that I've got it I don't think it's correct.

It's been suggested that I replace the petrol in the tank for the outboard,

Heart of Gold, Spring and a new house!27 Feb 2007 18:48 GMT3
Well, I thought it might be worth a few moments to stop by my old
command and see how the crew is doing. Not much is changed, but that's
as it should be.
It's true, we've moved from Queens to a house in Putnam County. It's
Conservation is anti-American27 Feb 2007 18:37 GMT2
Can you believe the idiocy of the greens?  They worship conservation.
They act live conservation is a worthy goal. Something to attempt with
all your heart. People who don't conserve are looked down upon. Well,
they are wrong. Conservation as a goal is just plain anti-American.
Passage Ireland to Firth of Clyde - a thank you27 Feb 2007 14:19 GMT12
Just a thanks to the many helpful replies to my query.  To those who
said 'skip the Clyde and go the Western Isles' (to paraphrase) I would
just say that I have sailed the Firth of Clyde/Kyles etc before and
want to revisit that area very much, but that we do in fact plan after
Anchor Chain27 Feb 2007 13:21 GMT44
What is the best way to tie off the anchor chain in the chain locker?
Should it just be left free? I am reluctant to run a large bolt
throught the last link because I don't want it ripping through the
deck. It would be nice to have something easy to disengage rather than
