The average boat owning idiot.31 Mar 2007 08:33 GMT115
The average idiot buys a boat for say 100K and finances it for ten
years. He fits it out and keeps it in a slip. The fitting out costs 20K,
the slip costs 5K per year, the insurance costs 1K a year. Haulout for
bottom paint 1K a year. Fuel 1/2K a year.

Bush should order a shoot down30 Mar 2007 18:23 GMT5
President Bush, Commander in Chief of the United States Marines Corps,
should order a shoot down of the Iranian president's plane over the
ocean. Send up a few F-18's from a carrier group and splash the sand
monkey. Ollie North, another great Marine, wanted to do it to Arafat,
My afternoon outing30 Mar 2007 18:06 GMT27
I have to ride the bus, see; because my car was stolen and although
I've been given a new one I need a little more time to insure it.

Welcome back Cotter30 Mar 2007 15:17 GMT32
I've been thinking about what a rigger told me recently about cotter

cotter pins (ones that don't sit right up against the turnbuckle faces
for example) with SS screws and nylon locknuts.
Wiring consumer unit and shore power30 Mar 2007 11:19 GMT42

Anybody out there have a marine/ham radio? Any recommendations on
equipment and installation? We are preparing to install one on the
tugboat and have gotten a lot of conflicting advice. We want a radio
that will allow us to communicate on both ham and marine SSB

My uncle has recently started to check his boat after it was laid up

Eberspacher heater and I wonder if anybody on this group can offer
advice...
