temperature sender mounting on outboard30 Apr 2004 21:12 GMT9
I've got a spare sending unit and gauge for water temperature.  Being
the anal gauge watcher that I am I would like to mount the sending
unit on my 90hp Merc so I can get a better indication of engine
operating temperature before the alarm goes off.  Any suggestions?  I
plastic aerosol straw dropped in engine!30 Apr 2004 15:54 GMT8
This is a good one. Last fall while winterizing my 120 HP Johnson 2
stroke outboard the little red straw plugged into the nozzle of my can
of engine foamer popped off inside one of the cylinders in the engine
through the spark plug hole. I tried my best to get it out (with a
Rebuilding an Inboard30 Apr 2004 11:59 GMT7
I'm in the home stretch of renovating the structure and interior of my
runabout.  The one component that I haven't touched is the motor itself.
I have a 1970 427 Crusader.  What determines when an engine should be
rebuilt?  What's involved in rebuilding an inboard?   How much would ...
Impeller help needed30 Apr 2004 09:05 GMT3
I'm trying to remove the impeller from a very old (ca. 1965) Merc 110 (9.8
hp).
I got the lower unit removed without incident and took the top off the water
pump.

Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen II production years?29 Apr 2004 21:08 GMT3
Does anyone have information on when the Alpha 1 Gen II was first intorduced?
I 'm looking for a lower unit for a 1988 Wellcraft 264 Antiqua and *I
thought*  that would be a  plain Alpha I. I thought the Gen two wasn't
introduced until after 1990, however, I've recently seen an ...
OMC Cobra Stern Drive29 Apr 2004 20:59 GMT4
I am de-winterizing an OMC 5.8L with a Cobra drive.
There are three plugs on the upper drive. Two on the starboard side, one on
the port.
Are these just drain plugs for water or for lubricant?
Milk Carton Boat?29 Apr 2004 19:30 GMT13
Our assignment is to create a boat made out of solely milk cartons and
duc tape.  With unlimited amounts of only these two supplies, the boat
must be able to float 50 yds of a awimming pool.  Now the hard part is
that someone has to maneuver the boat, meaning that it must float
WTD; Online source for Yamaha o/b parts29 Apr 2004 19:25 GMT1
Does anyone know of a website that sells Yahama outboard parts?  I would
like to know if a site exists that has parts listed that I can order direct
from the website without having to put in a request for quote via email.
Thank you,
portable fuel tank leaking29 Apr 2004 19:20 GMT3
My 6 gal portable o/b fuel tank leaks around the swivel fitting on top of
the tank.  It seems to do this when internal pressure builds up.  Even
opening the screw down vent doesn't give enough pressure relief to prevent
the oozing fuel around the swivel fitting.
Central Florida rig29 Apr 2004 19:10 GMT7
My mom is retiring to central Florida, and issuing demands for frequent visits
from our family.
My wife and I were discussing all of the excellent fishing opporunties.  We
talked about trailering our bass boat down, or possibly upgrading to a bay
It depends on who you feed.29 Apr 2004 12:34 GMT121
This piece seems even more appropriate now than when I first read it
some months ago.
The Whos down in Whoville liked their country a lot, but
the Grinch in the White House most certainly did not.

Need to find a used if possible jet pump to go on a 1972 Mariner 50HP

Eugene Oregon area that would have this?
Thanks,
Stern Drive Question29 Apr 2004 06:56 GMT6
I'm fairly new to boating. I bought a 2000 18' Regal with a 4.3L Volvo in
August, along with a Volvo 2plus4 extended warranty. Its in the shop right
now because the starter basically blew off the block a few weeks ago. The
mechanics are telling me there are traces of water in the ...
