According to my handy dandy hobby weather station, we just had a gust
of 53 Mph, winds steady out of the Southwest at 25 to 30.  There's one

Remove power trim?30 Sep 2005 21:52 GMT2
I just bought a used 85 hp outboard, and the power trim is shot (3 of 4
hoses are bad, along with trim motor. Condition of cylinders unknown but no
reason to think they're bad). The boat I'm putting it on has an aftermarket
trim unit (cmc PT-130, works great), so I plan on using ...

We decided to replace our aging Toro snowblower with a new CCR 3650E
purchased on Ebay and received yesterday.  We will be donating our old Toro
to charity even though it works OK.
I will be winterizing our boat's engine and outdrive tomorrow and then

OK, I know it is easy to say 'take it' when you are not the one
having to cough up the dough so keep in mind that these expenditures
are considered quite significant for my budget and I am not sure I can
afford all of them... Having said that...
Steaming exhuast...30 Sep 2005 13:25 GMT1
I have a '94 5.7 L Mercruise in my boat.  Recently while running on the hose
when flushing i noticed steam coming from the exhaust on the prop and the
exhaust on the bottom of the outdrive.  It wasn't a tremendous amount but
never noticed it before.  Any basic suggestions to ...

Went up to a grape picking and wine charity sale for Cal Poly SLO
scholarships on Saturday. Rant on. Why is it people come to one of these
events, drink the free wine, etc, and then do not even buy one bottle?
Tacky. Rant off. Fished their pond, for bass. Landed about 3, lost ...

NYOB,
If you read a few of the posts in today's rec.boats, you will see we have a
few  "progressive" posters who are as delusional as Farrakhan.

Wood vs fiberglass stringers28 Sep 2005 20:50 GMT9
I've read the discussions of this subject and thought I would share
today's experience.  I recently bought a 17ft. Tidecraft center console
boat.  I noticed that it had a little wear on the hull where the bunks hit.
I took it in to find out why it was making water.  The repairman ...

Back in 1997, I lived aboard a boat, but I was not the registered

San Mateo County assesor has put a lien on my credit report for two
years.
rolling cradle for runabout28 Sep 2005 01:50 GMT3
Hi all, just bought and older 76 starcraft fiberglass boat with a ford 302
sterndrive. I want to get this boat into my garage to work on it over the
winter but if it stays on the trailer it's going to be impossible to move
around plus I'd have to cut the tongue off the trailer so I ...
