I've got a 2004 GX185SF Glastron with a Volvo Penta 4.3GL-D (carb) stern drive that suddenly decided not to start. This was the first time out this year (Colorado) and everything was fine for most of the day. The boat started fine, ran fine, temp, oil pressure normal, etc. We ...

I think I really messed up my motor last weekend. I just bought the damn boat and it's already in the shop. It's a 96 glastron gs185 with a volvo 4.3 gs. Anyway, we were cruising along and we heard a clang clang noise and the engine stopped. I tried to start it again and it sounded

| Looking for "perfect" boat/selling boat :( | 31 May 2006 04:25 GMT | 2 |
After enjoying my Mako 254 for nearly 7 years, and many thousands of dollars in gas/TLC, I have decided to trade it in on something a bit more practical for my current needs. I no longer desire to go offshore and have moved into a

| I reveresed my battery and now.... | 31 May 2006 03:57 GMT | 37 |
I appear to only have two cylinders firing. I have a 100 HP Yamaha 4-stroke. I inadvertently reversed the polarity and tried to start it. We replaced the fuse and it started, but ran rough. today we removed and cleaned the plugs (too late to get new ones).

With a little gymnastics on your part, you should be able to get it out without pulling the engine. If you decide to pull the engine it is a 20 minute task IF you have an overhead chain hoist. Don Dando

| OMC charging sys. question | 30 May 2006 20:19 GMT | 1 |
I have a 1982 OMC I/O (3.9 L V-6). I've noticed the battery voltage gauge reads about 18 volts (in the red) sometimes. I'm not sure if this is normal or if there's a problem with the internal voltage regulator in the alternator. Some charging systems go "open circuit" once the
