Jeff Healey has died08 Mar 2008 15:45 GMT50
No one has mentioned this yet here, but he has died of cancer. He was
a great blind guitar player with a unique style. He laid his guitar on
his lap and fretted it with his left hand kind of like playing a piano.
Lake Lanier thanks to drought has substantially more beach area08 Mar 2008 15:40 GMT15
As anyone who has rafted up on Lake Lanier on any holiday weekend knows,
there just never seems to be enough beach area.  Thanks to our 2 year
drought, that lake of beach area seems to be solved.
Slide number 5 is a photo of the area of Lanier where I spend most of my
Your true traveler finds boredom rather agreeable than painful.08 Mar 2008 14:59 GMT1
Your true traveler finds boredom rather agreeable than painful.
It is the symbol of his liberty -- his excessive freedom. He accepts
his boredom, when it comes, not merely philosophically, but almost

Damn Nor'easter08 Mar 2008 05:16 GMT7
A huge nasty Nor'easter winter storm grounded my son's flight from St. Louis
to Cleveland.  We have not seen him since January 4th.
The bad news is that we are expected to go into blizzard conditions late

which is a daylight basement. Above is a deck coming off of my kitchen
one floor up. So, I'm thinking of using #25 carbon steel roller chain.

Hey Krausie, I have a friend who is a boat dealer.  I showed him your
previous post, and he is wondering how in the world you did it?
From a previous post by Harry Krause about his activities as he took over
his father's boat dealership:
What is the worst wax/polymer you have ever used for your boat?07 Mar 2008 18:29 GMT6
Rec.boats has had lots of discussion on the best boat wax/polymer, but I
don't believe I have ever read one of the WORST product.
About 8 years ago, I "experimented" with Starbrite Premium Marine Polish
with Teflon.  After 30 days, the boat was showing black streaks from air

What OMC would a 1988 boat have.07 Mar 2008 14:31 GMT14
OK,  a local guy has a "boat" a pretty good sized cuddy, and his
outdrive is locked up. Well, He found out that it's got an OMC
outdrive. He doesn't know which.
Did OMC still use "Stringers" in 1988? or were they the "Cobra"
