There were posts here a couple of months ago regarding the TomTom GPS units.
Are the users here satisfied with them?  What version are they?  I see
version 3 is $50 more than version 1.  Worth the extra dollars?

On Chuck's site someone mentions two wire mechanical push pull steering
systems used by Parker boats. I am curious. Could anyone post a link to such
a steering system. I know in the olden days that OMC used that type of
system for a while but I was unaware that anyone is using it ...

Just saw an interview with Pat Mackey, president of Mercury Marine, in
which he mentioned that *all* 30-40-50 hp outboards sold in the USA were
totally manufactured in...China.

Suppose you are boating in coastal waters. You have a VHF radio with
DSC. How far off shore do you have to be before the USCG can no longer
hear the DSC signal....?
