Cox usenet is up again.29 Jul 2008 13:00 GMT4
It was down a week or two ago for a few days, but it seems to be working
fine again. Of course, I've already switched to Easynews! Maybe I'll
develop some patience as I age.

A guy in another group is looking into harsh weather cameras, thought
someone here talked about them once.. Any reccomendations?
'Cruising' Sweet Spot29 Jul 2008 11:20 GMT13
It was too rough on the Bay Saturday for me to want to extend the
"testing" to the higher RPM ranges, but I did note that the apparent
sweet spot for my little Parker and its Yamaha F150 is 4000 RPM. At that
engine speed, with three guys aboard, plus 75 gallons of fuel (3/4

You've Been 'Loogied'29 Jul 2008 02:04 GMT10
If you are one of the Seven Dwarfs, you're now in the new, vastly
improved rec.boats "bozo bin," which means that if you are directing
your "bons mots" towards me, you are wasting your time and effort. I

The three stooges28 Jul 2008 20:33 GMT28
In classic WAFA fashion I will announce that I have put them back into
the bin.  Since 2/3rds of the stooges got a temporary boot from Chuck's
place, I thought I would take a look to see how they were handling their
"time out".  Obviously, nothing has changed and back they go.
Name this object28 Jul 2008 17:51 GMT13
My son just emailed these pictures.  He was playing around with a metal
detector out in his backyard, near an old stone wall and cow pasture.
Not sure what it is.  Looks like some kind of old, metal button with leather
straps or something.

Anybody using these?
Anybody care to laugh at the very idea of them?

Assisted in saving two sinking boats yesterday.
The first was a 20'  CC  (with a low transom engine cutout) that was just on
the verge of swamping.
The water was less than an inch from flowing over the cutout.  The two

About 30 posts yesterday from Diseased Krueger (DK), almost all of which
I simply skipped. That boy sure knows how to drool.
New yacht27 Jul 2008 18:07 GMT14
Been having fun yesterday and today with this thing.   I opted for a small
engine, (it will take up to a 15 horse) and have been dutifully following
the break-in proceedure.  Today I finally had enough time on it that I could
"open it up".

24 pound striper w/live herring this morning off the new SCE&G beach
on Lake Murray this morning.
Nice fish - 80 feet of water and not hanging on structure.
Interesting.
