My brother called me aboiut it,a nd I honestly don't know. I winterize
my boats (both GM engines) and really never gave it much thought,
seeing they only get stored about 5 mo. out of the year. and with
exception of drainging water and flushing wwith the "pink stuff'

What is the purpose of draining the monitor before the lower unit? The
other night I changed by lower unit oil. I just opened the screw at
the bottom, opened the monitor cap and left the loweer unit (in the
down position) drain into my pan over night. The next AM the monitor
