I spent the day installing a strut bearing and then installed the strut and
rebuilt shaft on a 30' Marinette today, had to have shims made to get the
shaft aliened because the last owner had a bad repair with screwed up shims
and the shaft was binding and had ben run in a bind ...

I just put a new impellar on my 86 alpha 1  When I had the impellar to
cover off I noticed there is alot of side to side  play in the driv
shaft coming up out of the lower unit  [ a good 1/8-1/4 in at least
just a estimate ] does anyone know how much side to side play is norma

I have an 1987 170 Mercruiser, It will not start. I replaced the starter and
the extra solinoid. If I turn the key nothing happens but I can start the
boat with a screwdriver by jumping the starter. Any Ideas?
