Replacent hydraulic steering.09 Jul 2003 16:29 GMT1
Just wondering what brand or system would be best for my 25 foot
Trojan. I have rack and pinion by Teleflex-Morse, but there's no way
to get it out without cutting it or my wood dash.
Any suggestions as to which system is best or cheapest?
Lumber questions09 Jul 2003 12:29 GMT10
I've been perusing some old boat plans, and have a question regarding the
sizes of boards. "Back in the day" when some of these plans were written,
lumber was actually the size it was sold to be. Now, a 1x4 may be as little
as 3 1/4 in. wide (as measured at local Lowe's home ...

I hope My Bilge Is Showing08 Jul 2003 12:39 GMT1
I have consulted many references and I know that the bilge is the
rounded part of the ship's hold. I know that stagnant water collects
there.... Only thing though is I'm unsure what the expressions "Turn
of Bilge" and "Slack Bilge" mean.

I've posted here about this question before, but never made final
decisions and now it's down to having to decide.

Willow ribs for SOF kayak03 Jul 2003 14:14 GMT1
I've looked att he site showing a blue polytarp-covered kayak made with willow
switches for the ribs. This is a Q&D job just for fun. But, all seriousness
aside, why wouldn't willow limbs make good ribs?
Is there a traditional style that uses bent shoots for the ribs? It seems that
Battery Boxes...03 Jul 2003 03:50 GMT1
I have 2 group 29 batteries that I'd like to conceal in 1 battery box.  The
boat is a 16' center console, and i'd be placing thes behind the
coole/cockpit seat.  I havnt had any luck locating one thats already made.
What would be the best/cheapest way to make one?

pic of one?

who lives in PA and will use it a lot more than me.  However, he's now
calling and asking if I know the location of the VIN # plate on the
trailer.  Seems the official in PA from whom he has to get the title
