If a plan for a ship calls for 3/8" thickness in steel hull, what would
that be app. in Aluminium instead?

  I need to re-caulk all the windows on Far Cove (1983 Catalina 36). The
windows are glass, surrounded by aluminum frame. How do I do this? Is it
relatively easy?

some terms I can understand.  I great answer would be of the form
"To build an 80 ft sailing vessel in 1492 took about 14,000 man/hours" or
something like that.

  I need to plug a hole in the transom of my boat (used to be the outlet
of the furnace - about 2" diameter). I was going to use a plywood plug
epoxied in, but realized I wouldn't be able to use gelcoat to match the
existing finish, because it wouldn't stick to the epoxy (correct?)

I have been working with Carlson hulls for a while, designing my 20
footer I have been squaking about for the last year. I think I have

I have to purchase a new trailer, I have a Shorland 'r now and it is painted
and I used it in saltwater and it is now finished.
I am looking at the same model galvanized.
I have also  been looking at  aluminum also, by FloatOn and other companies.

I have a old house boat that the fiberglass has separated from the wooden
decks.  The separated pieces have been ripped up not leaving much still in
tack.  What is the best solution for my problem.  I have never worked with
fiberglass or resealing decks that leak!  Any help, links, ...

We have been asked to list a Morgan Out Islander 33 on our brokerage.
Problem is that the owner stripped boat interior and is only part way
through restoration so it is not suitable for listing.  Perhaps someone in
this group is looking for a project? If so, we can put you in touch ...
