hoping there might be a helping individual who could supply plans or solid
design experience information, for a steel or aluminium, scow bow hull
design suitable for a houseboat. 70' - 80'.

I just received my new depth finder and transducer in the mail.  After
asking on newsgroups, reading Chapman's, and some West advisories I decided
on the Nylon Flush Mount thru-hull transducer.
The instructions that came with it say NOT to put it through a wood hull as

I have Bruce Roberts 53, steel, sailing boat (http://www.jassira.com) I
would like to fit taller solid hand rails. I think a  height  in the region
of  36"/42" would suffice, but what about diameter and wall thickness of the
tube. Stainless would great but I would happy with ...

I've got a fiberglass boat which could use some luster restoration.  I've
heard reports, but none first-hand, about Penetrol.  Some have said direct
opposites - that it gives a great, deep, restoration, and that it doesn't
work, and causes long-term dullness, but I don't recall any ...
