| Old diesel | 30 Sep 2003 21:59 GMT | 3 |
I recently discovered a tank with 50 liters of diesel that is probably more than 15 years, old from what I know of the boat history. The 'diesel' or liquid is like syrup, does not smell diesel but varsish. What is the reaction that can alter diesel ?

| New engine for Far Cove | 29 Sep 2003 02:49 GMT | 1 |
As soon as I sell the appt, I'm repowering Far Cove (36ft sailboat). The existing engine is old, tired and underpowered. 21hp is NOT ENOUGH for a 36-ft boat! However, I don't have a lot of space, so I need something that's about

| minimum splash well dimensions | 28 Sep 2003 14:39 GMT | 1 |
I will be converting a Carolina Dory Skiff from a small motor well to a transom mount /with splash well for a 20 " shaft 30 HP 4 stroke. I would like to keep the cutout as small as possible because the transom is narrow. Is it going to be better to just buy the motor and make sure ...

| Hurst Transmissions | 27 Sep 2003 22:19 GMT | 1 |
Does anyone know if Hurst makes a transmission that I could fit to Twin cylinder Briggs & Stratten or other similar air cooled engine. I want to build a large fishing skiff with around 25 horse power. All we had when I was a kid was a five horse B&S engine in a 16 ft. skiff and we ...

I have an old dehumidifier that makes all the right noises, but does not cause either of the outgoing or ingoing tubes to get hot or cold. Perhaps the compressor is shot, or perhaps the (presumably) freon has escaped.

I have a 14 ft. Carolina Skiff that does everything right...except...get up "on to plane "quickly. I recently traded in her older 25 hp Johnson, equipped with a Stainless steel prop, for a newer 25 hp Mercury. The Mercury came with, obviously, a

Ok, so after putting the engine back in and then having to do it AGAIN because of a new motor mount that broke....Yesterday we connected the exhaust pipe. The pipe dips lower than the exit hole through the transom. This

| Plumbing the Watermaker output? | 24 Sep 2003 19:02 GMT | 9 |
I have another troublesome detail to deal with. I have this tube that, if everything works the way I planned, will be spewing out half a gallon of fresh water a minute. Now how do I get it into the tanks? I am thinking about plumbing it into the fresh water system between the
