A daggerboard trunk was installed in a lauan underlayment boat
last summer, close to one side of the boat, and fastned with PL
Premium glue and screws through the hull from underneath. The boat
hasn't been sailed vary often but the stresses on the trunk

A friend put in a new Perkins M-30 with Hurth trans 2 years ago (34 ft
sail) and has gone thru 4 Hurth transmissions in 700 engine hours.
The M-30 engine is marinized and sold by Volvo as the 2030 with the
same Hurth trans private labelled as Volvo's own.

I am trying to decide on a double ended lapstrake boat to build. I
need to find some more info on rigs -- particularly the diffreence in
terms of handling and sailing between gunter and
standing/dipping/balanced lug. Any help or pointers to useful sources

Just wondering if anyone outthere was building an aluminum hulled sail
boat.  I am planning on starting soon and was wondering if anyone had
pointers or experience with this type project.  I am just trying to

I am currently in the early stages of designing/building a 20' V-hull
with a fixed shaft type surface piercing drive.  Power will be provided
by a standard inboard type transmission mated to a 330hp. V8 gas engine.
Does anyone have any experience with surface piercing drives good or

what are the limits of plywood boats ?
I am interested in kind of ultralight (25000# to 32000# light) trawler in
the 42-50 feet range, of displacement type, not semi displacement. No intend
to exceed hull speed. So single engine could be in  100-120 hp range.

Anybody have a preference for either Clark Craft or Glen-l? Clark seems to
be cheaper on about the same boat.

Ok, I've seen the ClarkCraft Deckboat, the Glen-L pontoon boats, the
various pontoon kit sellers, and a few "free" pontoon boat plans on the
web (Pontune comes to mind)...
I've used "Hulls" to analyze designs I've come up with on my own.

I just purchased my first boat: a Santana 21' fiberglass sailboat.  It's
in generally good shape but I'd like to repaint the bottom this winter
since the old paint is flaking.  I'd like to suspend it over the winter
so I can paint the whole bottom and fix up the trailer but I ...
