Paragon Gearbox.21 Oct 2003 20:13 GMT8
I'm about to settle on a slightly larger boat - moving from a 18ft clinker
fishing boat to about 23 ft.  During test drive ( what IS the right word for
this ..) today my only issue was with the gearbox. forward and reverse are
OK, but in neutral it is still turning the prop, ...
Titebond II21 Oct 2003 17:05 GMT21
Yesterday, I was applying two by four doublers to one or two rafters
and perlins in the roofspace of the homestread, cracked or broken

with some Titebond carpenter's glue applied to one face.
liferaft tent material?21 Oct 2003 11:48 GMT2
I test my DBC liferaft every year. It inflates quite nicely each time, every
time. The fluorescent orange "tent" covering material has developed a black
mold in numerous places.  The mold is right in the rubbery fabric and will
not scrub out. Does anyone know what this tent material ...
Outboard motor drawings21 Oct 2003 10:43 GMT1
Any idea where I can get scaled drawings or digital images (side
views) of the latest 4 stroke outboards (115 to 140 HP range). I have
obtained some installation dimensions with a sketch attached but these
are for a range of outboards sizes and are poor quality. I was hoping

Does anyone know of any website that specializes in custom
reupholstered boat seats?  I have back-to-back boat seats & possibly

Fein detail sander sand paper21 Oct 2003 01:47 GMT10
I purchased a Fein detail sander a few months ago and really like it.  The
problem is finding replacement sanding discs.  This unit uses the sticky
backed kind rather than the hook and loop type.  Where can I find
replacement sanding triangles?

I have welded up a couple of seat boxes, and now intend to paint them with a
two-pack polyurethane. However I have a couple of questions that need
answering first.
Is polyester filler the correct filler to use on aluminium, if so can the
holding tank plumbing20 Oct 2003 18:23 GMT1
I am planning to replace the connections for my

water pump rebuild17 Oct 2003 18:45 GMT1
I'm replacing the water pump impeller on a 1980 Johnson 70HP 2 stroke.
When I removed the pump housing, there was a small (1/2" long, 1/8"
diameter) round, bullet shaped piece of metal laying inside.
Does anyone know what this piece is,  and where it fits ?
Opinion Sought - Plywood Hulls17 Oct 2003 11:11 GMT24
Whenever I read opinions, they tend to be given from the standpoint of "I
believe in method A as opposed to method B"
What I need to know, before embarking on an expensive and time-consuming
build project, is some good advice on the relative strength and longevity
