Grand Banks 49 - Fuel Tank longevity or other know issues?15 Apr 2004 18:53 GMT3
I'm considering the purchase of a 1981 GB49 trawler and have noticed
that some GBs of this vintage have had fuel tanks replaced.  Does
anyone know if this is a common issue, or what the average tank
longevity is?  I assume some major structural work has to be done to

zero clearance cutting tools?15 Apr 2004 04:03 GMT22
I am going to trim some plywood frames that intersect the hull right at the
shoulder position of a few quarterberths.  These are either 1/4" or 3/8"
plywood frames, tabbed both sides to the hull.  By the way, I'm a naval

I've recently purchased a six year old 34ft jeanneau.  Whilst
generally the boat is in very good shape I do have some fairly bad
yellow staining on the gelcoat topsides.  Also there is a large amount
of chalking effect which is probably caused by the strong UV light in

Using granulated rubber in paint for non-skid - experiences?14 Apr 2004 00:53 GMT1
I LP'd the non-skid molded diamond areas of our deck last year with LP
with the little beads mixed in - wife says it's too slippery.
I don't want sand, walnut shells.
Someone suggested granulated rubber bits.

Anybody evey see what lurks under the teak toe rail on a Gannon built
Freya 39?
Plan on replacing the teak with Al. Not sure how the deck-hull joint
is formed and hope to avoid any surprises.
