following up on a previous post where I was asking for info on Tyvek sails... I just finished making a tyvek sprit sail on a sewing machine. The description below is also at www.ncf.ca/~ag384/TyvekSail.htm. I hope to add photos when the film in the camera is done and developed.

I am about to embark on building a 10 ft stitch and glue dinghy, a Dudly Dix, Argie 10. I would think this has been asked, but so far I haven't found it. Can I use those plastic self cinching cable ties to hold the panels together

What is the proper way to bed deck hardware using sealant? Do you want to have a thickness of sealant? How thick? Will the sealant fill gaps? The pulpit flanges are at a slight angle to the deck. With the flange

The designer of this dinghy I am building, specified a 2" aluminum tube, with 1/8th inch walls, to be in two sections. He also included a drawing for the machining of a plug to assemble the two sections of the mast, which otherwise fir into the dinghy for towing/transport,

I am planning to build a small Dudly Dix design, a sailing dinghy called an Argie 10, for my 12 year old daughter. This was a "carrot" in an effort to get her more interested in studying. She achieved the benchmarks, and now I have to produce :)
