Gluing a mast30 Jul 2004 18:46 GMT4
I am slowly rebuilding a wooden Snipe class sail boat. The boat sat in an
old garage/barn for many years. One of the results of age is that the mast
has come apart near the top where it had been finger jointed(?) together.
First of all, is it possible to re-glue this joint?
Help.... repair with fiberglass & resin29 Jul 2004 19:40 GMT6
My husband is rebuilding the seats for our bayliner.   He has made the seat
boxes and is ready for fiberglass.  He has sealed the plywood with resin.
Now is where we differ in opinion.  I say that glass needs to be laid
anywhere that two points of plywood come in contact, i.e. the ...

How to temporarily stop a leak?28 Jul 2004 21:39 GMT10
We've got a steel hull houseboat. Recently we pulled it
to work on the outdrive, and when it went back in it
began leaking. Swimming under the boat I found that
about 2" of a plate weld has rusted and cracked. The
Floating houses?28 Jul 2004 17:30 GMT6
A guy down the dock recently got back from a trip
out west somewhere. He was talking about some
river--maybe up around Washington state--where
they do a lot of logging, and move logs with barges,

Outboard Motor Rebuilding28 Jul 2004 15:39 GMT4
I need an outboard motor, somewhere between 150 and 200 horse, for my Glen-L
boat project I'm finally finishing.  To save money I was thinking about
buying a motor in the 10 to 20 year old range and overhauling it myself.
If anyone has had experience in this I'd like to know how ...
Searunner trimaran28 Jul 2004 13:56 GMT4
Well I launched her today, Searunner 25 trimaran.
Damn, it even floats and very shallow (best I could measure 10inches).
Forgot to cap the centerboard pin holes.
Kind of funny to hear water running into your boat while launching.
Epoxy or polyester?27 Jul 2004 17:14 GMT8
I took two weeks off from the Argie 10 in order to go and work on Ocean
Planet, in Portland, Maine.
Now that I am back, I have a piece of carbon fiber cloth to cover the
bottom of the dinghy with.  Funds are real tight and I am afraid that

Unfortunately, my local Library has not been any help.

New instrument panel material25 Jul 2004 05:28 GMT19
I'm replacing the cockpit instruments (wind dir, speed, knot etc) in
my sailboat and of course the holes are different.
The original ones were cut right thru the cockpit combing
gelcoat/glass - so have some big holes I can't use.
