I'm putting running lights in my 12ft aluminum skiff. I'm running the wires through a harness and want to run it down the inside chine (don't want it down the keel, and the gunwale is outside so can't really do it there). How do I attach the plastic harness to the aluminum? I ...

| Fiberglassing over wood? | 28 Aug 2004 14:10 GMT | 6 |
This is slightly off topic since I building a swim platform rather than a boat, but they use the same materials and both float... Anyhow, I found a big pile of 5/4"x6"x5' pressure treated planks, weathered but in good condition. I figured they had gotten all the cupping and

| A really odd refrigeration challange | 27 Aug 2004 23:21 GMT | 52 |
On our recent BVI cruise I started thinking about cockpit drink coolers. The beneteau 505 has a very poorly insulated cooler in the cockpit table that is a total waste of ice. RUTU, being derived from a modern high performance design, has a very wide fairly shallow cockpit. ...

I need to lower the mast on my space sailer 22 (22ft masthead keelboat) (see earlier messages regarding halyards). I have had experience doing this on larger yachts (30 and 32 ft) but they involve some pretty heavy masts. On those boats the technique was to set up an

| Best materrial for bench for flybridge? | 24 Aug 2004 05:56 GMT | 2 |
We want to build a small L-shaped bench for the flybridge on a 30' powerboat. It will be self-contained (not built into the flybridge). We want to keep the weight down, and it must be water resistant. What is the best material? I wondered about 1/4' plywood braced with a
