hi, can somebody please clear this up for me? Are lapstraked boats caulked (ie with cotton) the same way as straight up plank on wood boats? or are the planks usually just glued and screwed watertight together?

I live in northwest Florida near the Alabama line on the Gulf coast. Does anyone know of any teak wood suppliers in this area? I need 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch teak surface plywood. Also need teak and holly flooring. Appreciate any info.

I want to use epoxy to bed a pair of aluminium 4 inch fair-leads (the exisiting ones are some 40 years old gun-metal and have cracks) to the stern of my boat. There is no access underneath to the existing bolt holes so I intend to bed the fair-leads on a bed of thick-ish epoxy ...

I have a 1983 Bayliner, fiberglass. In the engine room there are 2 transducers with the wires cut at the top, are not being used. I am pulling the boat to paint the bottom and IO. Is it a good idea to pull the transducers out and plug holes?
