Morgan 461 removals - Genset, Davits, AC, Lectra-San, Refrigeration, Pushpit/stanchions/lifelines set17 May 2005 03:06 GMT2
With apologies for being off-topic, after sending this to the Morgan list,
and then the Island Packet list, based on the responses there, it occurred
to me that there might be some here who'd like to have a shot at some of
this stuff, given the parts-hunting mentality of most ...
Rebuilding a Snipe17 May 2005 00:02 GMT1
I'm just beginning to rebuild an old wooden Snipe believed to have been
built in the 30's. I need to replace small portions of the keel and want to
know what kind of wood to use.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Lead Questions16 May 2005 23:15 GMT22
I've come into possession of a quantity of lead wheel weights - about 70lbs
worth.  I'd like to turn them into 10lb weights with an eyebolt on the top.
One minor issue is that the weights were stored in an old grease pail and so
are quite greasy.

More MiniCup repairs15 May 2005 17:12 GMT6
I am very sorry I used bathroom underlayment for my two MiniCups.  It
is such poor quality material that now I am covering the boats with
fiberglass.  I highly reccomend that builders use a higher quality
material.
Cleaning bilge14 May 2005 02:15 GMT5
Just purchased a 43' Gulfstar sloop.  Need to clean out the bilge as
completely as possible.  I don't think it's ever been done.  The bilge pump
pumped out all it would, lots of oil under the engine, scooped up sludge
around the mast.  In the engine room it looks like the bilge ...

Gelcoat repairs  ?????11 May 2005 13:10 GMT3
Something I've never done is repair the gelcoat on a sailboat.  But then
repairs may look like just that.  I have a few chips and cracks in the
gelcoat of my boat and I'm looking for advice, product and methods of
repair.    Anyone willing to venture into that realm ?

MiniCup Sail10 May 2005 02:59 GMT12
My old visqueen sails for the MiniCups finally fell apart so I have
bought some white polytarp material to make new ones.  The old
directions said nothing about shaping the sails but the polytarp sail
manual discusses it.  However, they also make reference to lateen sails
jarcat09 May 2005 07:38 GMT4
I will appreciate your input regarding the JARCAT CC29 design. Use would
be live-aboard-cruising in the Carribean, Gulf of Mexico and along the
eastern coast of South America.  (not interested in ocean crossing) I
would definitely plan to have someone build the hull but perhaps ...
