Bayliner logo13 Jul 2005 20:37 GMT1
The Bayliner logo on my Rendezvous is all scraped up and I want to replace
it.  Does anyone know what font is used for the Bayliner logo - or is it
"special" ?
Does anyone have the logo in a vector image?
cheap Y-valve for head pumpout?13 Jul 2005 18:55 GMT5
Yipes, $65usd for a frickin' plastic valve at Waste Marine? I think
the pipe on my handsome, gleaming hand pump toilet is 1 3/8" or 1
1/2". Can't you use something from the hardware store? I want to Y the
waste to the thru-hull or the waste tank. I guess you need one Y-valve

I have decided to replace the old floor in my 1986 Four Winns, as it
is start to get spongy and there is some rot in the hold compartment
underneath.  My question is what method do any of you suggest to cut
out and remove the old floor.  I would like to remove it in as few
Boat house on Great Lakes?12 Jul 2005 12:53 GMT5
I know this group is dedicated to boat building but I was wondering if
someone here could answer this question. WHY don't you see more boat houses
on the great lakes? I've seen dozens on the St. Lawrence River but can't say
I remember seeing any on the great lakes. I know in the ...

I am working on a Vhull boat and am trying to raise the top section from the
bottom section to repair some flooring.. we have raised most of the top
section off but have come to a halt when trying to completely seperate the 2
sections. The back of the boat has soft yet dense "epoxy" ...

Ten years ago I built a Bolger designed sailboat...the "Teal". I did this
while working 6 days a weeks..often 10hrs/day. Before painting the hull with
System Three products, (WR-155 primer, WR-LPU Topcoat)  I tested the

Still looking and thinking.  This is interesting.  With it being a tunnel
design couldn't you get even more shallow water clearance by going to a jet
outboard...  yeah... loss of HP etc, but its a fair trade..
Dual or Geared belt for Perkins 4-10809 Jul 2005 22:46 GMT2
I wonder if I can convert my 4-108 to a dual belt or geared belt driven
alternator?   The 100 amp Balmar seems to eat belts and I generally
reduce the load to start at 40-50 amps.  Spreading out the belt load
seems a good alternative.  Also anyone put two alternators on and how

Make GRP panels for canoe08 Jul 2005 12:30 GMT4
I'm interested in building a canadian canoe for myself and my daughter
to use. I have already built a small rowing boat using stitch and glue
many years ago, but want to try something different.
What I was thinking is to pre-make flat GRP panels (gelcoated on one
Grumman sailing canoe08 Jul 2005 03:38 GMT5
I have an old 18' Grumman aluminum canoe that I grew up with canoeing
most of the rivers in FL.  It has enough room to carry 4 people or to
carry camping equipment for 2.  It seems like it might be possible to
design a good sailing rig for it.  Maybe use a lateen rig, outriggers,
Gorilla glue anyone???07 Jul 2005 18:07 GMT21
Man, I used this stuff for the first time, last week, and have seen
nothing like it! Ease of use (no mixing), and strength. I glued a scrap
piece of 2 X 4 together (90 degree angle) and when set-up, I could not break
the joint!! I had to swing it "sledge hammer" style to ...
