| How Easy to Mount/Dismount Outboard Gas Engine? | 30 Sep 2005 02:11 GMT | 13 |
I would like to know how easy to mount or dismount an outboard gas engine -- let's say a 40HP motor. I assume I need a carrier to hold the outboard motor while I mount or dismount the motor. My questions are: - Is this a one man job?

| WaterWheel Product Finishing & Sealing | 29 Sep 2005 14:21 GMT | 9 |
I build Water Wheels and sell them. However, I am no expert at using epoxy and various protective finishers & Sealers for Wood. I use 3/4 inch Marine Plywood for my 4ft Water Wheel (with 12mm Marine Ply used for Water buckets) and 1/2 inch for my 3ft and 2ft WaterWheels (with

| How to shape a dagger board? | 28 Sep 2005 20:56 GMT | 34 |
My mahogany dagger board was damaged when I bought the boat used. I glued it with epoxy and put some fiberglass around it and it has held up for a few years, but I don't think it will last. I bought some 8/4 white oak on ebay for almost nothing (100bf for $1.25),

| Antennas, again, sorta (WiFi connerctiviy afloat) | 28 Sep 2005 07:35 GMT | 20 |
Well, my attempts at obtaining shoreside communications via one powered-up point up the mast to this point are stymied (covered in prior posts on the subject, never resolved). Seems AP (access points, what talks to my computer) and Bridges (what talks to shore) don't play well ...

| Fiberglass hot tub | 28 Sep 2005 01:00 GMT | 11 |
I know this is a bit off-topic for this group, but I'm not sure where else to ask it. I'm going to build a hot tub (more like a soaking tub), and I'd like to use fiberglass. I will first build a 2x4 frame, then (maybe) attach plywood to the inner part of the frame, then apply

| Mixing differant Resin Manufactures | 27 Sep 2005 20:41 GMT | 9 |
I just got the resin delivered for my first boat. I got a 1.5 gallon kit, and was wondering, if I run short, can I get a pint kit from a differant supplier and have them bond to each other okay? Obviously I would not mix one companies part A, with another companies part B, but

Hi all, just bought and older 76 starcraft fiberglass boat with a ford 302 sterndrive. I want to get this boat into my garage to work on it over the winter but if it stays on the trailer it's going to be impossible to move around plus I'd have to cut the tongue off the trailer so ...

Dear Group, Has anyone in the group used vinylester resin to do any boat building? Some manufacturers are claiming very close performance to epoxy because of epoxy resins being added to the vinylester. Are these
