| wanted:mainsheet block | 14 Sep 2005 17:41 GMT | 3 |
I'm looking for a new (or used) swivel mainsheet block for a small, old, 12 ft sailboat. All the online sources I've found (WEST marine, Defender, etc.) either don't have them, or it looks like the blocks are for much larger applications.

| career question | 12 Sep 2005 20:50 GMT | 10 |
I'm not sure if this is where to ask, but I've tried writing some people who make canoes/boats for a living and most don't seem to want to respond (can't say I blame them). Is it possible to make a decent living making canoes (cedar strip

| ??? about manual to re-build outboard power head | 12 Sep 2005 02:36 GMT | 10 |
I've got a 1979 Evinrude 115hp outboard. It needs to have the power head put back together. The guy who "was going" to do it got it appart, but won't be putting it back together again. I know someone who feels he can do it if I get a manual.

| SouthCoast22 - Make a Mast. | 11 Sep 2005 14:15 GMT | 1 |
I got tired of looking for a way of shipping an aluminum mast for the SC22 down from Denver, so after work on Friday, I drove an hour to Lawton, and looked over what wood, Sutherland had in stock. They had two by fours of #2 northern spruce in 8, 12, 16 and 20 ft

Dear group, I was recently cruising around the web looking at some shanty boat plans, and noticed that none of the 5 or 6 plans i saw had any bulkheads in the framing that would prevent the entire one piece hull

| Fiberglassing my daggerboard? | 08 Sep 2005 03:25 GMT | 21 |
I would like to drill a couple holes in my mahogany daggerboard (on a 13' boat) and fill them with lead. Although I am sure the boat can handle it, I am not so sure about the daggerboard. I am thinking of sanding an 1/8" of an inch off it all around

| Cutting Fiberglas: How? | 08 Sep 2005 01:29 GMT | 24 |
I noticed that during idling, my engine vibrates enough to constantly hit the water pump on the fiberglass engine foundation. The last two or three big jumps the diesel does when stopped bang the water pump into the fiberglass really

| Brass fastners for Rub Rail? | 07 Sep 2005 22:42 GMT | 3 |
Someone said not to use them as they would dissolve from the saltwater in 6 months after turning the surrounding wood black. Is this true? I guess bronze would be the thing if you wanted a more traditional look to stainless? I had planned to varnish over them. Thanks as always.

| WiFi connectivity afloat - other usenet sites/URLs sought | 07 Sep 2005 21:53 GMT | 19 |
Starting a new thread as the old one led to dead ends. For a précis on the background, see the thread "Antennas, again, sorta" - but I'm trying to find an up-the-mast single-item (or single box, anyway) which will see my wifi connection in my laptop as well as shore points. To
