Putty: Crawford's or Dolphinite?25 Mar 2006 21:41 GMT4
For on-deck hardware and port light bedding. Any preference among
those who have tried either? Crawford's all-natural painter's putty,
the old water packed for freshness brand- VS the brash contender,
Dolphinite. Thanks, ray (crawling towards the finish line) lunder.

Need to remoe fiberglass from hull24 Mar 2006 15:32 GMT4
My boat has  a 3'x3' patch of heavy non woven matt fiberglass on the hull
from the gunnell to the waterline.
It was used to protect the hull as lobster traps were hauled into the boat.
Its ugly.

Material identification23 Mar 2006 01:00 GMT8
Can anyone tell me the name of the brownish or red-brownish material used to
make blocks, sheaves and winches? I have heard Delrin suggested, but the
only kinds I can find are white and black. Also, can paint (what kind) be
used to finish it?

Ahoy, the mighty Yanmar YSB12 sputtered into life this evening for the
first time in many, many years. This is my first diesel and I have a
few questions. Quite a few, actually. It's kind of a long read now
that I look at it, I hope you're not too busy.

Aerolite 500? Having failed miserably with epoxy I thought I would try
this glue but after an hour of "searching" I gave up. Anyone know
where to get a gallon of this stuff? Prefereably by phone. Thanks.

Why flush a marine engine with fresh water after each use?20 Mar 2006 15:38 GMT5
I am purchasing a boat with an OMC V8 engine. And as I kinda research
on the Internet on how to best keep the engine in good shape a lot of

out when the boat is not used. I am wondering that should help when the
Marine grade electricals20 Mar 2006 06:44 GMT6
Anybody know where I can get marine grade (NEMA 4X / IP-66 or better)

Preferably, these items would be the larger kind that you ...
Drive line updates and request for antifoul experience20 Mar 2006 05:17 GMT1
Many thanks to all who replied to my threads on Drive Saver/equivalents
and line cutters.  We've gone to a Drive Saver (the type with two
