Honda Vs Kipor, revisited07 Mar 2006 22:08 GMT8
http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/2870 is a great (ham radio enthusiast)
site with reviews by many owners of the Honda line.
For myself, while I don't much like the thought of spending 20-30% more for
what may be the same genset, and that difference could buy a lot of dining
Genset Noise07 Mar 2006 22:05 GMT2
There have been several postings here recently about the near-silent Honda
genset. I have the opposite -- a generator powered by a Briggs & Stratton
engine that can wake the dead even at idle. Does anyone have some
suggestions for ways to (even slightly) reduce the N-O-I-S-E!!! ...

Lower Fore-stay add on question06 Mar 2006 21:23 GMT4
I've been thinking ... how do you go about adding a forestay or short

Ok, connect to mast and run wire to deck .. duh?
The deck connection ,, this is where I get lost.  Doesn't the stay base need
aluminum yachts/catamarans06 Mar 2006 18:32 GMT1
Is it mainly the difficulty in forming compound curves that stops more
aluminum yachts/cats being made?  I see lots of powerboats nowadays
going over to 'plate aluminum' construction with 1/4" aluminum being
used rather than the really thin gauge stuff used on small runabouts,
Planer on fiberglass?06 Mar 2006 08:35 GMT10
I have a canoe that I am reworking. It's got a few holes in it and the
keel board has chunks of fiberglass missing and deep cracks in the
resin.  Has anyone used a power planer on fiberglass as a way of
removing it? Did it ruin your planer? I should remove the cracked
My old wooden fuse panel,..06 Mar 2006 08:19 GMT5
Does this require a metal enclosure? I live in WA state if it makes
any difference. The boat was British built originally but now has
current WA state registry.
I have slogged through the electrical code and I still can't find a
Calling MaxProp with Line Cutters owners06 Mar 2006 00:55 GMT1
Hi, List(s),
The time has come to put my drive line back together.  To avoid another such
event, this time caused by a lobster pot or some such instead of our mooring
line (we'll not make that mistake again!), of screwing/jacking our
where can I dl USCG electrical requirments?05 Mar 2006 12:09 GMT5

Stanchion Base Backing Plates ,, Question05 Mar 2006 05:29 GMT7
On an old sailboat ,,,   the deck stanchions and other hardware such as
cleats etc are in need of re-bedding.
I have D Casey's book for fixing old fiberglass boats.  One question .. is

Hydraulic pump/motor Question04 Mar 2006 20:40 GMT1
Have the need to put together a generator. Have a cat 3208 motor and allison

Honda or Kipor (was) 500 W gensets03 Mar 2006 09:42 GMT15
This thread's reappearance, and Larry's story about his genset in his
workvan reminds me that we're about to buy a 2000W honda as our backup
and shoreside work genset.
However, it appears that Kipor either OEMs the Honda EU gensets, or
Another AT4 Engine Question03 Mar 2006 04:50 GMT3
As if there aren't enough of these questions ...
This is the toss up ??

12volt Trolling Motor.
I have no experience with this before, but I'd like to put in a few
of upgrades to the boat to both make it a more enjoyable fishing/creek
