looking for a "slower" prop for Honda 2.2 HP OB29 Jun 2006 17:00 GMT4
I am looking for different prop for my 2.2 hp Honda Marine OB (model
number BF2DY SHA). The standard prop is a 7.25x7.50 (diameter x pitch
in inches). As this motor has no clutch, I would like to make it go as
slow as possible. I'm pushing a 19.5 foot aluminum canoe: marathon
Good info29 Jun 2006 12:19 GMT2
I apologize to the group if anyone has previously posted this (didn't
find it in a search of the NG), but it seemed too useful not to post. It
is a reference-material and database link listing for a lot of  good info.
The following a a partial list of what you can find at
Teak oil that lasts?26 Jun 2006 21:30 GMT3
I have tried various teak oil products, and although they look good immediately
after
application, a week later they appear to be gone.  This is for a boat moored on
a port on Lake Michigan.
reg shape of boats..26 Jun 2006 14:39 GMT2
I and some of my friends had an opportunity to build rafts using sticks
and 4 inflated car tyres and normal ropes.
The requirement is for one person has to travel in the raft.
Of the 3 groups, 2 groups made boats of square shapes, and our group
repairing a fiberglass canoe26 Jun 2006 14:36 GMT4
A fiberglass canoe washed up on a friends beach a couple years ago.  He
tossed it over to one side.  Since no one has claimed it, I think repairing
it will make a good project for my son this summer.  He is actually eager to
do it.
water proofing deck26 Jun 2006 00:46 GMT2
I have been trying to decide what to seal up the decks of my houseboat
with. I'm looking at  roll on types such as sani-tred
(www.sanitred.com). I'm favouring looking at the roll on type because I
think it would be easier. The membrane types I have been looking at are
Maori sailing boat25 Jun 2006 16:54 GMT1
When I was in New Zealand a few years back I saw some
Maori sailing boats--long canoe like things with an
outrigger and a hinged mast. Does anybody know of
any book that has enough dimensioning information
Double Piloted Check Valve help24 Jun 2006 23:32 GMT5
I've asked 'the experts' but they must have thought I was asking for 'trade
secrets' and subsequently offered no help.
Here's my problem; I'm installing an Arneson ASD8 Surface Drive in my 30
foot Cobra Terminator race boat and understand I should use a Double Piloted

Polishing fibreglass gel coat23 Jun 2006 06:35 GMT5
The sun has given my fibreglass top a white bloom. If I buff an area very
heavily with a mechanical polisher and T-Cut and then polish it comes up
nicely. Trouble is, it's taking far too long as the gel coat seems to be
much harder than the paint finishes that the T-cut and polish ...

of 4 small portholes. Anywhere reasonable in the Seattle to Bellingham

Problem with my 1978 Sea Star 165hp Mercruiser Starting Problem21 Jun 2006 19:04 GMT3
Well, I have had this problem happen to me twice now with my boat.  It
is a 1978 Sea Star 165 hp I/O Mercruiser (Chevy Block?).  It cranks
real slow but will fire if the battery is charged up.  I took it out on
the lake it started up, ran it around a bit, anchored, did a little
350 V8 penta engine full of water after winter (Won't move)20 Jun 2006 23:44 GMT14
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me. I have a
bayliner that I bought with a rebuilt motor, however, the old owner
left the distributor out of the engine and the cover off over the
winter and the motor filled with water. I was able to drain the water
Alternative power plant for inboard jet boat20 Jun 2006 17:49 GMT4
I'd like a few thoughts on this seemingly crazy plan.
I've come into possesion of an inboard jet boat with no engine, around 16ft
long.
The idea is this, purchase an outboard engine (just the top part or one with
boat  newbie needs info on repairing 14 ft leaking alum boat20 Jun 2006 14:16 GMT9
I've never had a boat before, but I just bought a 15-20 year old
14 foot aluminum boat, and 7 hp. motor.
I just want to use it on the local fishing hole -a 40-50 acre
pond (I think.)
