Sawing aluminum tanks29 Sep 2006 16:55 GMT6
For some reason when two aluminum tanks were installed just three years ago,

The tanks hold diesel fuel.
Storing Resin28 Sep 2006 21:05 GMT11
Autumn has definately arrived here along with colder temperatures.  I
have a couple of gallons of polyester resin that I'd rather not move
into the house.  It's in a plastic pail right now and the "scent" tends
to spread.  I've tried putting the pail into a garbage bag but can
Waterproofing Aluminum Riveted Boats27 Sep 2006 17:19 GMT6
I recently inherited a 14 foot aluminum riveted boat from a family

This boat is in decent shape and I was advised there are no current

epoxy or varnish23 Sep 2006 04:41 GMT1
I have just completed the fiberglass stage of a 14' wood strip skiff*

Tyvek sails: a question for those who have used Tyvek?22 Sep 2006 18:44 GMT2

When it does fail do you think it's because of UV light or stress?
Thanks.
Skin over frame folding rowboat?22 Sep 2006 14:29 GMT9
Has anyone ever done/tried to do (home made or commercial) a
collapsible rowboat using a plastic (or other) covering on an aluminum
tube frame?  There are lots of kayaks of this type and a few canoes,
but I'd really be interested in a row boat.  Any practical reason this

anyone used PEX tubing for boat plumbing?20 Sep 2006 22:41 GMT11
I'm almost in posession of a boat I may have to gut - was thinking
about all the new inovations in all the systems and was wondering if I

Leaking portlights19 Sep 2006 08:11 GMT3
My  perspex (AKA lexan, acrylic, polymethylmethacrilate) portlights
are fitted directly to the fibreglass hull with screws and sealant.
The boat is twenty years old now and they have started to let the rain
in.
You are not gonna believe this one!18 Sep 2006 14:52 GMT25

Polyform's limited lifetime warranty: Scam18 Sep 2006 08:17 GMT7
One of the two Fenders on my boat, a Polyform HTM2,

threaded through the fender.
