| Steel hull insulation | 12 Nov 2006 21:51 GMT | 8 |
I'm considering purchasing a small steel-hulled yacht, but she does not have any insulation. I would imagine that the immediate problems in a European summer will be excessive heat, condensation, and to a lesser extent, noise. Retro-fitting insulation is an option, possibly in

| Apelco (Raytheon) Fishfinder 460 | 04 Nov 2006 22:48 GMT | 4 |
Well, after our 2.5 years ashore, along with several other instruments, much to my disgust, this unit's display has gone Tango Uniform (along with several of the buttons), with the LCD screen severely compromised for viewing. The transducer, of course, is virtually useless to

| removing 1700lb engines; back yard | 04 Nov 2006 03:39 GMT | 9 |
I need to build a contraption to remove two large, old, heavy engines. (1968 CC 427's). The boat is on stands and there's no way I know of to get a boom up, over and inside the wheelhouse.

| 1700 Lb Engines | 03 Nov 2006 23:55 GMT | 2 |
I suspect that the weight estimate you have is a vast over kill. If you disconnect the engines from the transmissions the engine weight should be in the range of 350 pounds. We have lifted 350 CID Chev engines with a single motorcycle tie down strap
