leaky aluminum lund31 Mar 2007 00:58 GMT1
Hey gang,
Does anyone have some pointers on tracking down a leak in a Lund 16
foot pike special?  Its leaking a little more than what I think a
bilge pump would fix.  I've done some initial work and would like to

Cap'n Navigator and NOAA download question(s)30 Mar 2007 02:50 GMT5
My apologies if this shows up more than once - I'm forced to use a web-
based posting medium and I got the message that the server wasn't up
to it at the moment and to try again...
I have the Cap'n aboard - and am still trying to get to know enough to
Hey Everyone! Can you PLEASE look at this?29 Mar 2007 14:54 GMT2
My name is Elliott, and I am seeking the help of as many people as I
can get. I'm doing a school project at Boston University and we need
people to fill out a quick survey that will take about 3-4 minutes to
fill out regarding a new product for kayaks.
Bottom Paint Opinion29 Mar 2007 14:49 GMT2
My old sailboat has ablative bottom paint on her.  I have sanded her and
much of the old paint is gone.
Now.. which bottom paint to put on.  My first thought;  the Interlux ACT
ablative bottom paint.
Electrical/LED question29 Mar 2007 07:44 GMT9
I have some LEDs that I would like to use on my boat.  They currently
operate on 3 AAA batteries or 4 1/2 volts.
Question:  What would happen if I wire them in direct to 12 v?  My
understanding is that LEDs have a fairly wide operating voltage range.
yamaha 15 vs yamaha 9.925 Mar 2007 04:19 GMT47
Im trying to compare a couple of yamaha 4 strokes, both long shaft, both
electric start.  the 15 and the 9.9 seem to share a common block, but with a
different carb and prop? they have exactly the same weight (50kg), same
displacement (323cm3), same compression (9.19:1), ...
Loading a boat on a trailer; center of balance,..24 Mar 2007 03:24 GMT3
The new dual axle trailer is coming along. IR now a welder. I could
use some basic math help around figuring out where to place the boat's
center of balance on the trailer. (so I can put the bunks in place) If
it were exactly between the two axles then it would have zero % tongue

But when it comes to how to plumb a system or what materials to
use, there is nothing--at least nothing specific to sanitaion. There

Removing Head,,,what about ??22 Mar 2007 22:57 GMT2
I am taking out the head because it has no holding tank.  Don't have the
money, time, or inclination to install a
smelly holding tank.
After the head is removed, I still will have the two lines  .. raw water
Pellerclean, anyone know where to buy this product ?22 Mar 2007 22:57 GMT1
I had a lot of marine life on my prop this past season in Long Island
Sound, and think I might have found a special purpose anti-foul
solution, but cannot find a distributor.  I have read about this
product twice, cannot find someplace to purchase. The website lists a
1978 85hp Evinrude Tilt stopped working, replace or fix?22 Mar 2007 03:11 GMT1
I finally ran my 1968 55hp to death! I picked up a 1978 85hp from a
family member. The tilt motor is a 3 wire. It ran and tilted just fine
while on the boat that I removed it from. I removed it with an engine
hoist, used the tilt once while on the hoist to position it better,
Cracks in canoe gelcoat21 Mar 2007 19:22 GMT2
Hi, I just purchased a 24 year old fiberglass canoe for cheap. I have
repaired two holes with west systems epoxy and plan to paint with
interlux brightsides linear polyurethane.  My prob is as I started to
sand one of the holes I repaired with the orbital sander, there has
fastener cutting21 Mar 2007 15:52 GMT4
Are there tools for cutting old fasteners (5/16" dia bronze) from the
inside of hulls?  If so, please advise what I can use to cut flush to
the inside of the planking.  I am adding new frames before hauling to
through fasten with new.  My boat has a fiberglass skin and I do not
Ping Peggy21 Mar 2007 04:39 GMT2
Peggy--
Are there regs (Lloyds, AYC) on type of hose to run from head to thru
hull.  I just installed 1 1/2 PVC sanitation hose (the glossy white
stuff that Waste Marine sells for almost $10 a ft)?  I then realized
