I am looking for a home built canoe design that is about 16' -17' long. I do NOT want one of those "works of art" beautiful woodgrained boats that you would be afraid to bang around on things. My boats get hauled over oyster shells, banged on cypress knees, rammed into things

I was given a 1968 Blue Water. This is my first restoration and have no idea where to start. Hull (fiberglass) looks good, needs a few patches along the top. All equipment is still intact and in working order. Looks like wood under original seats needs to be replaced.

I am going to replace the rotten wood on my Jon boat transom on the inside. It is about 1 1/4 " thick and about 6 " wide I was thinking of using the composite deck material any thoughts or advise ? Thanks
