I need to tap out a 1/4" hole in my mast to 5/16" 18 (no threads in
there right now) and put a machine screw in there.
 I have some options in terms of metal types and there have been a
number of discussions about corrosion and so on with SS in contact

I recently saw how my buddy repainted the sides of his boat with a white
fiberglass
paint, using a brush.  It did not look half bad from afar, but up close, you
could see

Any thoughts on using an exsiting canoe as a mold for building a wood
and canvas canoe?  I have limited time, and money and I thought this
my be a shortcut.  Obviously not kosher for the pure traditionalist.

Hi All.  I'm currently updating my nautical reference library with the
latest books on regulations and such, but I have to decide on some
building plans within the next few days and could use some
information.

I'm considering one of these - a 26-ft not-too-young sailboat - and
I'm curious re its prospects for the long haul, incl what to look for/
at in a survey.  Any surveyors around specializing in this?  Any
insurance issues known?

Subject says it all.  Cost and rot-resistance are the key

Ahoy, I have a portlight that someone scratched up, perhaps by using a
wire wheel to clean the bronze. The glass is all scratched up. Is
there some kind of compound that would buff it out?

After a lot of Googling for kayak plans I have finally stumbled upon a
design that I like simply for the look of it, the East Arctic Kayak,
characterized by a flat bottom, prominently pointed upswept bow, and a
large displacement. Web sites that I've found show how to build these ...

Going on a weekend cruise this weekend, and want to be sure to get
this tranny fluid change right the first time.
I would really appreciate any and all help here.
1.  What type of fluid is best - I have Dexron III ready to go.

Has anyone used this product  on a teak deck and if so how good is it.
