| Riviting Aluminum | 24 Dec 2007 15:17 GMT | 3 |
The rivets you describe sound like the kind used on 18 wheelers to attach the skin to the "E" Bar Tracks. We have used them here at home to make our own trailers from surplus 18 wheeler sections where the original trailer is being made into a custom show

| Looking to build folding sawhorses | 24 Dec 2007 12:58 GMT | 11 |
I need about four sawhorses to lay my sailboat mast (50') horizontally while I am doing the preparation work in the spring. Ideally, I should be able to transport these four sawhorses in the trunk of my car from my house to the yacht club. Then bring them back home and store

| adding outboard to cat | 24 Dec 2007 02:56 GMT | 4 |
I have a 16' cobra cat that i would like to add an outboard to. This is the same as a mosquito. The outboard itself is a honda BF2D, two horsepower 4 stroke. We mainly sail on a lake, and the outboard would be handy to get back when our finnicky winds die out, but the real ...

| Skin Boat Proa | 18 Dec 2007 01:13 GMT | 1 |
I've been thinking about building a skin kayak, perhaps a smaller one about 10 or 12 feet long. Then, after seeing a guy paddle by me in a small outrigger while I was anchored off Long Beach, I thought about combining the two technologies. The result would be a small skin ...

| Bio-diesel additive | 17 Dec 2007 03:46 GMT | 10 |
I just saw in the news today that my state is in the process or requireing all diesel fuel sold to contain 2% bio-diesel. Then push the limit to 5% in a set time period. My first thought was "Hold On". That might make sense to help with

Anybody know of any all aluminum designs (no wood composite or sandwich) available for sale for a shallow draft semi tunnel for river running? I can modify if need be, but I ain't gonna put no wood in it if I build it. Well, maybe for totally non structural stuff, but I doubt ...

I made up a 10 ft length of 4" plastic pipe with the end cap cemented on one end, the other end is removable. I have put various species of wood in it, filling it with water and let it soak prior to bending the wood. It work well.

| Why a laminated tiller handle? | 06 Dec 2007 22:15 GMT | 23 |
The rudder/tiller on my Potter 15 is disintigrating, so I will be asking a few questions on rebuilding it in the next few weeks. The tiller handle is laminated wood, in a very slight S curve. It has delaminated; and while I am now gluing it up with polyurethane glue, I think
