I know this is a boating forum but most of the posts I've seen on Git-
Rot seem to be be in the boating arena so here goes.
Does Git-Rot harden without being soaked into wood like a normal
epoxy??

  On the assumption that my boat stays above the waves long enough,
my next job is to put in floors. I've landed myself the job of
removing a library full of oak shelving which should do the job
nicely, but I;m not too sure what the best way of joining them

   I have a Furuno FCV 271. Recently I installed a new Speed/Tempreture
transducer.
   This has now stopped working. The previous one I had did not last long

I want to know the proper way to apply epoxy on scored core material.
Scored core material has many cuts on both sides to allow it to be
bent slightly.  I am under the impression that I need to apply epoxy
inside the cuts.  The method that I have come across in web site is to

I am working on an old wooden 17ft boat. The caulk or plaster or? that fills
the groves in the deck, is chalky and falling out. I am routing the old old
stuff out but am wondering what the best product to use to refill the
groves.

I have bought some aluminium mooring cleats with holes threaded in the
underside to be fixed with bolts from under the deck. I know there are
isues with stainless and aluminium but as there should be no water
ingress to the threads is it ok to use stainless bolts? Or is there

I just purchased a used fiberglass boat and noticed a 12 inch long
crack that runs along the keel of this boat.   While investigating the
area, it looks like the damage was caused by loading this boat onto
its trailer and hitting a roller a  bit too hard.   This has also
