| Aluminum boat seats | 29 Sep 2008 01:24 GMT | 2 |
I have an old Starcraft 14' aluminum rowboat with three flat wooden seats. The seats are old, rotting out, I need to replace them. They are just pieces of 1"x12". I'm wondering what type of wood to use, the guy I bought

| 1953 Larson Runabout | 28 Sep 2008 06:52 GMT | 2 |
I just purchased a 1953 Larson Runabout. It is made out of aluminum and has wood trim along the top edge and about a third the way down the sides running the length of the boat meeting at the bow. The insides have been totally stripped, ie, no seats or bow cap.

| Fuel Sender Selection | 26 Sep 2008 05:27 GMT | 5 |
Has anyone had positive experience with fuel senders? They seem to be notoriously inaccurate. I've seen the type with the vertical cork, the hinged cork and the one that has a tube within a tube (air pressure or and electric sensor?)

| Delamination with epoxy | 23 Sep 2008 01:18 GMT | 12 |
On my wood Tolman Skiff, I have found a couple of places where two layers of wood epoxied together are delaminationg. Nothing serious but if left unfixed would lead to problems. Basically, the directions said to paint all surfaces with thin epoxy and then before it cured to

| Should I Use a Transom Jackplate on an Older Boat | 14 Sep 2008 16:32 GMT | 2 |
I have an '82 Sea Ox 20ft WA that suits my needs. (Probably will only boat another 6-8 years.) Anyway, the '88 Evinrude 150hp 20"shaft engine is on last legs and unreliable. I'm thinking of buying a gently used 2001-2003 replacement 150hp outboard, but almost all worth ...

| 4 stroke outboard for 2 stroke design - 14 ft skiff | 12 Sep 2008 05:00 GMT | 1 |
I'm pretty sure folks have addressed this before, but in my ignorance, I don't find the answer. I'm building a Diablo (a Bolger design, plans from Payson <http:// www.instantboats.com/>), my first attempt a woodworking (not to

| C&C 24 1977 Project Baot | 09 Sep 2008 17:16 GMT | 1 |
I have a 1977 C&C 24 sailboat that I need to sell, trade, or what ever you have in mind. I will even consider parting it out. This boat must go. It was to be a restoration project for myself and my father-in-law but we will never be able to get it done. Plans and reality are just ...

| mercruiser 165 hp inline 6 gm | 08 Sep 2008 21:30 GMT | 2 |
I just purchased a 1972 aristocraft 19, and the owner says the fellow he bought it from put a 1985 mercruiser 165 hp inline 6 4.1 litre in the boat. I thought mercruiser stopped using that engine in 1976 or so.

| MiniCup Repairs | 08 Sep 2008 03:56 GMT | 2 |
Today I was shocked to find that my seriously beefed up MiniCup rudder boxes were rotten (Well, this is Florida). So I made patterns from the old ones and cut out the pieces. Cutting apart the old ones I found the reason they rotted was that

| new System that prevents boat corrosion | 07 Sep 2008 19:42 GMT | 8 |
I recently found out about a new system that prevents boat corrosion. The system is called SeaBis Electrolysis Corrosion Prevention System. This system is apparently the first of its kind that detects and eliminates stray current and actually prevents corrosion. Once the

Anyone have any idea when the folks at Stevenson Projects will start shipping again? Their website says they're moving the business again, but it's said that for a while now. Stuart Nottingham
