on-deck hammocks..choices?31 Jul 2004 22:54 GMT4
I have always liked the thought of a hammock hanging between forestay

My wife & I charter each year, and are looking for a very compact (no

made a cheap bimini top for '1630 Jul 2004 02:09 GMT6
Here in Washington the summers are great and I bought a '16 aluminum
boat. It didn't have a bimini top though and after spending the $ on
the boat I didn't feel like spending $150 - $200 for a bimini top. So
I made my own out of 1/2" copper pipe and 45-degree elbows from
Yamaha 9.9 outboard runs smooth then sputters29 Jul 2004 21:36 GMT16
With the wealth of knowledge and experience here, I have a problem that
needs your insight.
My (new to me) Yamaha 9.9 HP outboard (built year 2000) usually runs
fine at lower RPM, but when I ramp up over 35% of max speed the engine
Simpson Lawrence 555 Windlass Maintenance29 Jul 2004 08:14 GMT3
I have just purchased a yacht with a Simpson Lawrence 555 windlass.  I
have a problem in that I believe it has not been used for 3+ years and
although it will bring in chain, it will not release any chain out.
I have the exploded parts diagram and I assume that the gipsy has
propellor29 Jul 2004 06:56 GMT1
Can anyone point me in the direction of a website ( or whatever ) to
learn more about propellors?
I have a 28' planing launch, 200 HP V8 GMC 3,500 RPM, Mercruiser stern

Chain for Delta anchor28 Jul 2004 13:31 GMT2
Looking at anchors, I notice that the Delta carries a recommended
chain size smaller than a Bruce or CQR.  In other words, an 88# Delta
with 3/8" chain versus a 66-75# anchor of another type with 1/2"
chain.

I'm docked at Hewitts Cove in Hingham MA. Does anyone know any nice places to
spend the weekend not in Boston, but north of or south of Boston. Nice
restoraunt would be nice and some activities, things to do. We did P Town and
Boston. But would like to visit someplace different.

the Garmin proprietary "Blue Chart" CD that can be downloaded to the
Garmin 78CS GPS?

Well, I'm retired. I've relocated to Bellingham WA, and hot on the trail

There are a couple of 30 foot Islander Bahams for sale, but I haven't
