Head questions galore30 Nov 2005 21:46 GMT27
I just bought a new boat (to me) and have some head questions.
First some info:

Cooling a 1987 OMC 3L 130 HP30 Nov 2005 12:27 GMT4
I just bought a boat with a 1987 OMC 3L 130 HP stern drive.  While
winterizing it, I noticed water was not coming out of the prop.  The
impeller was shot, so I replaced it, but still no water exiting.  I ran
it for a few seconds with the impeller removed and saw that the hose

Another question: If I get this kit, what is the point of putting a
Kitty on Board?29 Nov 2005 23:00 GMT29
I'm thinking of taking out 1-yr-old cat "Kitty" on board Far Cove next
year (Maybe this winter, I donno...) She's been indoors all her life,
except a few times outside on a leash. And then she tends to hide under
whatever's handy...
AutoPilot Vs. Furling29 Nov 2005 20:45 GMT23
On a sailing craft which purchase would be a priority an AutoPilot or
a furling (head sail)?  And why?
Most used boats that come with furling rigs dont include an AP that I
have seen.  Probably because it is eaiser to sell the AP than remove
Insurance questions29 Nov 2005 13:56 GMT2
I'm considering sailing my boat from Southern California to Hawaii in a few
years. I am currently insured with Boat US, but the policy only covers local
coastal waters. I contacted them and they do not have a provision for
issuing a rider to cover the offshore voyage to Hawaii ...

Should I buy a Tayana, Beneteau, Hunter or something else ?28 Nov 2005 22:28 GMT16
First I wanted to buy a Tayana Vancouver 460 because I like
the pilothouse design. Then I went to look at some Beneteaus
with cast iron keels and this made me worry about Tayana's
fiberglass keel getting damaged if I go island hopping in the
Ocean PC28 Nov 2005 19:01 GMT7
I am looking for some information on the OCEAN PC. I am new to all of this
so please be gentle. I am doing some research to help a friend of mine. I am
actually looking for a manual on the unit. I am not sure of the model number
either. I have looked on elsewhere on the net but ...

Filling some small holes28 Nov 2005 16:15 GMT3
I need to fill a few small screwholes in a fiberglass pedestal.  The
fiberglass is shiny and white, so I want to have the holes "disappear" as
much as possible.
Any recommendations?
Hydrogen fueled boating28 Nov 2005 15:34 GMT26
I'm looking into my crystal ball and envisioning being a liveaboard on a 40
foot powerboat, 8 months out of the year, likely stationed in Savannah.  We
dream of touring the ICW, Gulf, Caribbean, and the Great Lakes.
Then we calculate today's fuel costs into the picture and gasp!  ...

I ran across a movie on TV (1983, Tommy Lee Jones) called Nate and
Hayes, really enjoyed it!
Are there any other old movies like this (probably), even B movies,
lets get a list started.
